//TUES 30TH AUG CD Release in Galway was phenomenal. 2support acts [NicolaWilliams, andFiaRua] were fantastic, making everyone trippy with great tunes. Afteraquick soundcheck, wetookto thefloor stage with Paul O Driscoll on doublebass and Keith Walsh on jimbay. Brilliant gig-on a par with the UKrelease. Family, friends, oldteachers, neighbours, randoms, journalists, recordstore owners...we ended in a heaving massof light/noise/heat. It'san old winecellar, so old stone arches abound. I'llpost photos becauseitis impossibleto describe how cool Deburgos is. [checkpresssection] Thanks to everyone whocame out-I know some who drove across the country for the gig, and it was great to be part of such a class night. After the gig, three cabs brought a gang to Ro's for a late night jam – more greatmusic-none recorded. davidlally

Pablo from Mexico City stepped in to play piano, the crazy rice shaker from Triton wound through the crowd, and a free for all made this place the coolest venue in London. Best gig-no question.Gig of lifetime. Thanks to everyone who came-youwere top. davidlally

Thanks for sitting in the sun at OFEST. Baked alive to hear some tunes!
Sim.
Cooked alive in Louisiana helping to build 4 homesin 8 days.50 hours in Baton Rouge and exhausted. No guitar, but music everywhere. Still, these are more melancholy days than they've been.
Haven't yet found the shovel. In the meantime, strange things are happening. Strange.Must keep searching...
Wrote some new songs. Like them. If I could dig out the studio from under this mess I'd begin the first recordings.Must buy a shovel.
There is a grey sky outside this hotel room. I'm watching tv while Hartford winds its way through Sunday.Bloody marys and wine for breakfast. Awful, terrible human. Will pay for it when working tomorrow!
Watched Lord of War last night. Amazing how numb we become. To everything, eventually. Bored little rats running around the place.Ah, happy feckin Monday.
Were you in Giblin's Sat.?What a night.Nuff said.
Major gig in Giblin's tonight Really hope you can come join us. Last night was incredible-loud! And Neiman's on Thursday was an organizational nightmare, but the music was great. We had a good time. It's a cloudy day here today.Perfect.

I'm trapped. What happened?Looking forward to playing in Seattle soon. It reminds me of home. Have to say though, as much as I love driving rain creating pockmarks on your face, it's tempting to stay here in the sun. Warm. Dry. Unpocked. Right. Regardless, hope you can make it if you are in WA in Feb. I'll post dates-keep an eye on this space.
Sun splitting stones.Just not same as freezing bones in snow.
Happy Christmas Everyone!Seeyounextyear.
Nothing like passing out mid song...ohyes,thatwasFridaynight.Seems to be a pattern... tonight the Christmas tree made an appearance, and we sat and drank deep, rich wine with the mad monk Blanchfield, and talked about bricks, and steps, and wild worldly sociopaths. HappyChristmas!
Sun blasting again-what the hell? Madness party last night at TonyAlva's-Lords of Dogtown/Z Boys fame. DJs, flamedrinkers, freebooze/sushi. It was essential that wecontinue drinking til just before dawn. Essential.Iwanttodie.
Sun blasting here in San Diego. Reminds me of the rare days it would shine growing up in Ireland. That perfectly balanced day where you'd disappear for the entire day, returning only when light was failing, and midnight was close. Must work on time travel machine today..
Hey...don't forget to bookmark this page. And call the radio stations!! [if you feel like it, ofcourse!]
Spent the evening going through receipts from the CD releases in Ireland and the UK. Some pretty hilarious memories floating back of random madness and crazed nights. We play this Saturday in Fallbrook-been a long time since we didn't play a Friday night. What to do?
Solo gig tonight in Carlsbad. I am in the middle of a vortex it seems...emails being stolen, strange motivations, headless horsemen screaming past.Bluesky.
Gig tonight in Fallbrook-my first home in Southern California. Tomorrow night in Atlanta, Georgia. It has an under ground city-just for the tourists.
It's nobody's fault, nobody's fault...but my own.Hiccup.
Phoenix is a hot city.Itis.Is it possible that life is actually a big, cynical being having a good laugh at us? Sitting on a huge couch somewhere?
Learned a massive lesson this week - one of those weeks that have the potential to alter the course of your life. To alter the choices you could potentially make. One of those. Dayton is a strange city-big poverty big unused buildings big wealthy Midwestern homes. I am beginning to know the city-found myself in a huge old piano warehouse surrounded by Grands. The kid dusting them off a third generation duster, evidencedby old newspaper articles in the chilly foyer recalling his grandfather's entrepreneurial spirit. The building's keyboard facade looks as though the 2 foot tall keys might slip to the ground in a cacophonous clash. Or do they? I mean, really, do they? Dayton is a confusing city, with no linear grid system to provide for my weak mind. What an affront; I actually have to figure this shi out?
Chicago's gig was lots of musicians/lots of Guinness. Sean-the booking guy for the place - was interested in a return to the venue sometime in the future. A true gentleman, he joined in on congas, while Leon and Ron threw down vocal attacks. B&C showed up in force. Je t'aime Chicago.
Leaving for Chicago early Tuesday. Playing at The Abbey Pub that evening-you around?
Foodwiththemadman.Dinner with the crazy cia/monk-wild as usual. He spoke in tongues. We drank Negra Modelo. We talked too much; about the chaotic see thing planet. Right. Left. Up. Over.No one gets to stand aside and look. Bob.
Franz Ferdinand tonight in SanDiego. Greatgig. Juliette Lewis comes on first to tell us how top they are and plug her gig in Anaheim next week. Looking into playing in Chicagonext week .Jeff Buckley's old stomping ground one of them.
Sick.Writing ashorttunefor avideothatwillrun oncable. Finished tonight.
This weekend two shows in San Diego- come and see us and win a car. Great blues duo at Hill St.Cafe in Oceanside last night-art show in what has become my second home. Listening to much Elliott Smith and eating pizza.
Warm.FM94.9- San Diego alternative radio station-listed OftenOne - as a "Recommended." This is savage! For an unknown, poor, hungry, destitute immigrant... You can see the listing on the press section of the website along with other reviews and recent news. Please call local stations and request songs from the CD if you get a chance. Both 91X and 94.9 have been playing the tunes. Thanks for all the support.
Early.Flying to Monterey for gig tomorrow. You have
any spare change?! TimFoley fromSkelpin joined us onstage last night in Carlsbad. He’s just back from a summer playing in Japan. I sadly turned down the offer to join them. Regret?

Ned and I are looking at playing a benefit concert-trying to find space to do something. If any ideas, send an email to this site.
Fiona Lally got married yesterdaytoP.Night/day ended at 6am.Class wedding
Deburgos Underground CavePossible to have two gigs like these in one week?
Sound system cancelled at last minute. What did I do to foster this vortex of bad luck? Am not superstitious, but this is getting ridiculous. Including the electric shock treatment from Sunday night's gig, thismakes it 4soundsystems either disappearing, goingupin smoke, or kickingback inas
